Comedy time
A comic hip-hop show, ‘Zak and Angelo’, will be held at the Alliance Française on June 8, 7 pm. ‘Zak and Angelo’ reminds one of the big burlesque duo of the ‘Grande époque’. One is lively, dynamic, and impatient. The other is more of a dreamer – calm, good-looking, and romantic. Both, little by little, let themselves get into the personality of the other, resulting in comic and ironic situations. All in all, a compelling farce narrated through rhythmic dancing, stylised movement, and mime.
‘Mango Party’
The ‘Mango Party’ will be held on June 10, 3 pm to 6 pm at Ranga Shankara. The party is open to all. Each one should bring one kilo of any variety of mango.
Jewellery show
‘Asia Jewels Fair 2012’, the jewellery exhibition, will be held at The Lalit Ashok Hotel from June 8 to 10. On display will be products from over 50 leading brands of Bangalore as well as other parts of India creating a platform for all jewels requisites under one roof.

‘Urban Mela’

The mela is part of the ‘Germany and India 2011-2012: Infinite Opportunities’, which celebrates 60 years of Indo-German diplomatic ties. An exclusive concept at the ‘Urban Mela’ is the ‘Youth University’, which is designed for ambitious talented youngsters.

Ashtar, an exhibition of saris in uppada, chanderi and chikkankari; suitpieces that are ready to wear and unstitched material, tunics, dresses, shirts and tops, dupattas and stoles will be held on June 8 and 9 at Vermilion House, 3/12 Cleveland Road Cross, Fraser Town.
These are created by craftsman specialised in each field. Each piece is made using techniques such as Ajrakh, Bandini, Chikankari, Phulkari and Mithila on finest silks, cottons and other hand-woven fabrics. For details, call 41225830.
